US20240366307A1 — “Navigating an interventional device”
What it’s about:
A computer-implemented method that uses a neural network to predict the future position of parts of an interventional device (e.g., guidewire/catheter) inside the body. It ingests device shape data over time (from imaging/trackers), outputs predicted positions with a confidence estimate, and can even suggest the manipulations (rotate/advance) needed to reach a target.
What it’s used for:
To give live guidance during minimally invasive procedures (endovascular, cardiac, etc.), helping clinicians (or robotic controllers) steer devices more safely and efficiently—especially at tricky points like bifurcations—by visualizing likely paths and recommended moves.
